Coburg 24hr 2019 race report

I finished 10th in the men’s 24 hour event today at Coburg clocking just over 142km. I didn’t manage my food, drinks and rests well during the run, and struggled throughout until the 130km mark. Then the body warmed up properly and I could run more easily during the last 90 minutes. The result was a PB of 15km, still short of my miler target, but one I was happy to get away with.

At Canberra 48hr last month, the body only warmed up after 100 miles and I really enjoyed running well from that point on. It’s possible that the body is adjusting to the much longer distances I have been doing.

Thanks to race organisers, heartwarming running camaraderie and all the cheers and entertainment from supporters. So stoked to share the track with friends old and new.
