Geelong 2018 race report

I was scheduled to fly out for the North Pole Marathon adventure on the 9th. After nearly a year of running pretty much endurance races on trail, running a half marathon on the flat in Geelong looked like an ideal tune-up to this challenging polar event.

The run was uneventful. I managed to push well in the last 7-8kms for a strong finish. The Garmin was showing a PB of a few seconds, about 3 years since I last ran a PB over a similar distance. However, the actually timer showed another story – I was a few seconds off my PB.

That did not matter, of course. I was ready for the North Pole.
